Football Recap: Eastridge Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastridge can now relate to. They were beaten by the East/World of Inquiry Eagles 39-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Eagles are ranked 116th).

When it comes to explaining why Eastridge lost, don't look at Cahmari Hayes. Despite the final result, he rushed for 154 yards. Hayes' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

Taye Brown Jr. went supernova For East/World of Inquiry., rushing for 154 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 71 yards and one TD on only six passes. Those 154 rushing yards gave Brown Jr. a new career-high. Michael Paxson made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Eastridge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for East/World of Inquiry, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Eastridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East/World of Inquiry, they have already played their next matchup, a 34-7 victory against Brockport on the 7th.
