Smith-Cotton lost against Battle back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Smith-Cotton Tigers were dealt an 80-47 loss at the hands of the Battle Spartans. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Battle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keshun Jackson led the charge by going 6 for 10 en route to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Jackson has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keyion Cross, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Smith-Cotton's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Battle, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Smith-Cotton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-40 win against Waynesville on the 17th. Battle has also already played their next game, a 71-55 victory against Rock Bridge on the 17th.
