The Garinger Wildcats will square off against the Chambers Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Garinger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

On Tuesday, Garinger got the win against Butler by a conclusive 8-1. Jace Garrett was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Chambers' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Providence by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Chambers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Providence are ranked 15th).

Garinger has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four matchups. As for Chambers, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3-3.

Everything went Garinger's way against Chambers in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, as Garinger made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
