Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Bloomingdale Bulls

The Shorecrest Prep Chargers and the Bloomingdale Bulls will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Shorecrest Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-37 victory over St. Petersburg Catholic. The win was nothing new for the Chargers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Nickolas Bearden was his usual excellent self, putting up 40 points. His afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Crumity, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Bloomingdale beat Dunedin 63-58 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulls.

Bloomingdale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Shorecrest Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Shorecrest Prep came up short against Bloomingdale when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 40-35. Can Shorecrest Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
