After a string of nine wins, Lawrence County's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the Athens Golden Eagles, falling 12-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Lawrence County got a good showing from Elijah Tuckier, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Tuckier hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February.

At the plate, Parker Frost made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Athens, their record is now 18-9.

Looking ahead, Lawrence County will face off against Brooks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
