Baseball Recap: Miller City Comes Up Short

Miller City and Montpelier squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Miller City had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Locomotives by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Miller City's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 23-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Montpelier, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Miller City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montpelier, they will square off against Minster at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Locomotives 4, the Wildcats 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
