After a string of six wins, Veterans Memorial's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Pace Vikings by a score of 2-1. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Pace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Veterans Memorial will take on Boerne-Champion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pace, they will challenge Port Isabel at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
