Baseball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Somers Tuskers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Jeremiah Rock was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed 7.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Rock was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Alex Schwartz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Somers, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tuskers beat Carmel by a score of 6-3 on Saturday.
