Altavista barely beat Gretna the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colonels put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 11-3 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Colonels' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Gretna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coincidentally, Altavista and Gretna will both be playing Nelson County the next time they take the field. The Hawks will host the Governors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Colonels will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
