Softball Recap: Midd-West Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Midd-West's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Columbia Bluejays on Thursday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bluejays earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Emma Wagner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Midd-West's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Central Columbia, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Midd-West will host Troy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Central Columbia, they will face off against Lewisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
