Basketball Recap: Suwannee Takes a Loss

Suwannee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Madison County Cowboys. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-49 back in January.

Leading Madison County to victory were Louis Gaddy Jr and Sean Williams. Gaddy Jr dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards, while Williams went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kevin Gilley, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Suwannee's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Madison County, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Suwannee has already played their next match (against Taylor County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Madison County will challenge Branford on Wednesday. Madison County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.
