East Chapel Hill and Riverside-Durham are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither East Chapel Hill nor Riverside-Durham made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2.

For Riverside-Durham's part, Brayden Mottola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Riverside-Durham's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Setji, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Setji's first of the season.

With the defeat, Riverside-Durham broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-2. As for East Chapel Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
