Baseball Recap: Eaglecrest Gets the Win

Eaglecrest's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Mullen Mustangs. The Raptors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Brian Moreland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Lambert, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Eaglecrest's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-12 when he doesn't).

Eaglecrest's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Mullen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Eaglecrest will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mullen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
