Volleyball Recap: Acadiana Home School Athletics' Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, Acadiana Home School Athletics's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the First Baptist Christian Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Commandos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: First Baptist Christian scored at least 11 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 15-11.

Leo Mader paced Acadiana Home School Athletics' offense, picking up 22 kills. Mader got some help from Elijah Chopin and his 22 assists. Chopin also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Nathan Mayeux, racking up two apiece.

Acadiana Home School Athletics' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for First Baptist Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Acadiana Home School Athletics will square off against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. First Baptist Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Commandos' match: after the Commandos face off against Varsity Opponent, they'll take on First Baptist Christian again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
