            Volleyball Recap: Alameda Pirates vs. Campion Academy Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            The Alameda Pirates didn't have quite enough to beat the Campion Academy Cougars on Monday and fell  3-2. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Alameda took Campion Academy into a fifth set  but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-23, 18-25, 25-27,  17-15.

 Despite the  loss, Alameda saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Eduardo Cantillo  had five  aces and three  blocks. Those five  aces set a new season-high mark for  Cantillo.
Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. Campion Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
 Looking ahead, Alameda will take on Denver Waldorf at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. This will  be Alameda's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Campion Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-0  victory against Mile High Academy on the 25th.
