Softball Game Preview: Hickory Flat Rebels vs. Pine Grove Panthers

For the second straight game, Hickory Flat will face off against Pine Grove. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Hickory Flat comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Hickory Flat heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to Pine Grove.

For Pine Grove's part, Memory Mauney was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Mauney was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Lela Seawright was a standout: she got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Anaston Christian was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Pine Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

With the win, Pine Grove broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-13. As for Hickory Flat, their loss dropped their record down to 0-20.
