Appomattox County has gone 9-1 against William Campbell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Generals at 5:30 p.m. Appomattox County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Appomattox County took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Nelson County by a score of 5-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Isaac Records looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Evan Carwile was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Micah Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, William Campbell hadn't done well against Chatham recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Generals blew past the Cavaliers 14-1. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Generals this season.

Appomattox County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for William Campbell, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.

Appomattox County was able to grind out a solid victory over William Campbell when the teams last played back in April, winning 7-2. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
