Soccer Game Preview: R-S Central vs. East Rutherford + How To Watch

The R-S Central Hilltoppers are taking a road trip to take on the East Rutherford Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. R-S Central has given up an average of 4.9 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Rutherford will have to contend with a R-S Central team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since the 6th. R-S Central lost 9-0 to West Caldwell on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, R-S Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 475th, while West Caldwell are ranked 165th).

East Rutherford hadn't beaten East Burke on the road since September 23, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. East Rutherford came out on top against East Burke by a score of 3-1.

East Rutherford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for R-S Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1.

R-S Central might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from East Rutherford when the teams last played on October 1st. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
