Basketball Recap: Klein Cain Takes a Loss

Klein Cain lost against Tomball back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Klein Cain Hurricanes took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tomball Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 750th, while the Cougars are ranked 103rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tomball to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mallory Lehmann, who posted 12 points. Maddie Caldwell was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Klein Cain dropped their record down to 5-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Tomball, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Klein Cain will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Klein Oak at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Tomball, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-39 victory against Klein Forest on the 3rd.
