Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Stang Spartans vs. Greater New Bedford RVT Bears

The Bishop Stang Spartans will head out to take on the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Stang will be strutting in after a win while Greater New Bedford RVT will be coming in after a loss.

Bishop Stang is headed out to face Greater New Bedford RVT after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Bishop Stang came out on top against Old Colony RVT by a score of 8-4 on Saturday.

Brock Winslow was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Harry Tingley Prince was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Greater New Bedford RVT had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 14-7 to Barnstable.

Boston Bettencourt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Rego, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Bishop Stang came out on top in a nail-biter against Greater New Bedford RVT in their previous matchup back in April of 2015, sneaking past 6-4. Will Bishop Stang repeat their success, or does Greater New Bedford RVT has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
