Baseball Recap: Dora Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Monday. Dora lost 14-5 to Ashville. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ashville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 back in March.

Grayson Stephenson and Gage Hogland stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stephenson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hogland went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Stephenson is becoming a predictor of Dora's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 7-14 when he doesn't).

Dora has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Ashville, their record is now 14-17.

Coming up, Dora will face off against Curry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
