Archbishop Spalding dropped their record down to 8-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Leonardtown Raiders by a score of  2-1. Having soared to a lofty 23  runs in the game before, the Cavaliers couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Archbishop Spalding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lily Davey, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double.
As for Leonardtown, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games.
On Leonardtown's side,  Claire Radford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Radford has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kendall Wathen was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base.
 Looking ahead, Archbishop Spalding will be playing in front of their home fans against John Carroll  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Leonardtown, they will be taking part in a tournament against Marriotts Ridge  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Leonardtown's pitchers better be ready for this one: Marriotts Ridge has averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season.
