Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Lakeland

There's no place like home for Lakeland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 45-37 win over the South Lyon Lions on Tuesday. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lakeland pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for South Lyon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Lakeland and South Lyon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Lakeland will challenge Milford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 171 places (233 vs. 62). Meanwhile, South Lyon (ranked 454th) will meet South Lyon East (ranked 165th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
