Basketball Recap: Ethan Hill's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hancock over Fannett Metal

Hancock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 82-64 bruising from Fannett Metal. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 281st in Maryland, while Fannett Metal are ranked 642nd in Pennsylvania).

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Hill, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Hill is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Welch, who posted 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Fannett Metal, they moved to 7-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Hancock will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Fannett Metal, they will square off against Belleville Mennonite at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
