Softball Game Preview: Longview Lobos vs. Harleton Wildcats

The Longview Lobos will head out to challenge the Harleton Wildcats at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Longview and ten for Harleton dating back to last season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Longview's offense. They lost 15-0 to Henderson on Tuesday.

Harleton might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-9 to McLeod, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Maddi King was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she's brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Airington, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Harleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harleton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Longview, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Everything went Longview's way against Harleton in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Longview made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Longview since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
