Volleyball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena managed to slip by Mountain View the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Colts lost 3-0 to the Mountain Lions on Thursday. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mountain Lions earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Buena saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josiah Canales had 12 digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Canales.

Buena's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Mountain View, they moved to 13-16 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Buena has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Desert View on the 22nd. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Catalina Foothills on the 22nd.
