While St. Luke's Episcopal didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They won by a run and slipped past the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since February 25th.

Jeremy Menhennett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Menhennett wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Russ Warner, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

St. Luke's Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats take on Murphy Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, they will challenge McGill-Toolen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
