Recap: Ocoee Knights vs. Dr. Phillips Panthers
After flying high against the Windermere Wolverines last Friday, The Ocoee Knights came back down to earth. Ocoee took a 27-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dr. Phillips on Thursday. Ocoee lost against Dr. Phillips in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-25 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Ocoee saw an underclassman step up: Ja'Cari Jackson threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Ocoee's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Michael Mcclenton.
Ocoee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Dr. Phillips, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3.
Ocoee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dr. Phillips will head out on the road to face off against Jones at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. One thing working in Jones' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
