Basketball Game Preview: Epic North vs. Goddard Communications Arts & Tech Jaguars

After both having extra time off, Epic North and the Goddard Communications Arts & Tech Jaguars will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Epic North knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Goddard Communications Arts & Tech likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Epic North against Cambria Heights Academy as the squad secured a 70-43 victory. Given Epic North's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Cambria Heights Academy is ranked 439th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Goddard Communications Arts & Tech was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Thursday as they fell 46-42 to Pathways College Prep.

Epic North pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Goddard Communications Arts & Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Epic North came up short against Goddard Communications Arts & Tech in their previous matchup back in January, falling 57-53. Can Epic North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
