Softball Game Preview: Orland Trojans vs. Red Bluff Spartans

Orland hasn't had much luck against Red Bluff recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Orland lost 12-6 to Las Plumas on Wednesday.

Gracie Cutshall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Eden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Meanwhile, Red Bluff came up short against Shasta on Friday, falling 12-2. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Red Bluff saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Owens, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Orland's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Red Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Orland couldn't quite get it done against Red Bluff in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
