Baseball Recap: Pierz Falls Short of Pine Island in the Playoffs

Pierz and Pine Island squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Pierz had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Pioneers haven't been shut out since back in May.

Pierz's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Pine Island, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

As of now, neither Pierz nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
