Basketball Recap: New Richmond Extends Winning Streak to Two

Blanchester came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against New Richmond, but Grant Hess wouldn't allow it. The New Richmond Lions blew past the Blanchester Wildcats 76-38 on Tuesday thanks in part to Hess, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Preston Dykes was another key player, putting up three points along with 12 rebounds and eight assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

The victory made it two in a row for New Richmond and bumps their season record up to 8-11. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 38.9% in those games and 28.3% outside of them. As for Blanchester, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

New Richmond has already played their next match, a 51-47 defeat against Mt. Healthy on the 12th. As for Blanchester, they will head out to face off against Lynchburg-Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
