Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Guadalupe Centers). They walked away with a 45-36 win over Frontier STEM on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 34-19 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Guadalupe Centers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luis Popoca, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten assists. Popoca also grabbed six steals, which is notable because Guadalupe Centers is 2-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 4-8 otherwise. Kelvin Mendoza was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 17 points.

Popoca wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Guadalupe Centers was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Guadalupe Centers is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Frontier STEM, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Guadalupe Centers didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-38 defeat against The Daniel Academy on the 7th. As for Frontier STEM, they will square off against Independence Home School at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Independence Home School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
