Volleyball Recap: Brennan's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Brennan was the 3-1 winner over Johnson when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Brennan lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 29-27.

Kayla Rodriguez paced Brennan's offense, picking up 15 kills. Rodriguez got some help from Aviana Contreras and her 20 assists. Rubie Mares and Mia Nunez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brennan fell to 4-1. As for Johnson, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Brennan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Madison on the 16th. As for Johnson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Davenport on the 16th.
