Soccer Game Preview: Oldenburg Academy vs. Switzerland County

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters will face off against the Switzerland County Pacers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oldenburg Academy knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Switzerland County likes a good challenge.

Oldenburg Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Milan with a sharp 9-0 victory. Oldenburg Academy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matchups.

They hit Milan with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Claire Niese (4), Lydia Niese (3), Kathryn Mack, and Aubrey Baker.

Meanwhile, Switzerland County unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrenceburg. Ashlyn Jesop was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Switzerland County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Oldenburg Academy, their win bumped their record up to 16-0-1.

Oldenburg Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Switzerland County when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Twisters repeat their success, or do the Pacers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
