Recap: Arlington Heights Yellowjackets vs. Chapin Huskies
The Arlington Heights Yellowjackets waltzed into Thursday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 35-30 W over Chapin. Given Arlington Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Chapin is ranked 678th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chapin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabrielle Rogers, who scored 9 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Zaya Valadez-Hernandez, who scored 6 points.
Arlington Heights' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chapin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Arlington Heights will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Everman at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Chapin will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Midland Legacy at 9:30 a.m. on December 1st. Midland Legacy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
