Softball Recap: Cornell Starts Season with Victory at Home

Cornell took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sto-Rox Vikings as the Cornell Raiders made off with a 12-2 victory. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Cornell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mckenna Griffith, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another was Samatha Melius, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Cornell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 24-17 win against New Brighton on the 19th. As for Sto-Rox, they will challenge Hopewell at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
