Hertford County proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 34) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Pasquotank County Panthers 26-25. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 20-7 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Hertford County was led to victory by Ayden Everette and Jalen Burnell. Everette rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns, while Burnell picked up 83 receiving yards and one TD. The Bears are undefeated when Everette posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Pasquotank County lost, don't look at Jayon Harris. Despite the final result, he rushed for 90 yards and one score. Harris' longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Datravion Simpson, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Hertford County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Pasquotank County fell to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hertford County will welcome Currituck County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pasquotank County, they will challenge Martin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Gators have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
