Soccer Game Preview: Durant vs. Plant

Durant hasn't had much luck against Plant recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Durant take on the Plant at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Durant's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last four matches.

Durant's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Sickles. The Cougars better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Mykala Ulrich, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, Plant came up short against Sumner on Tuesday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Stingrays are ranked 19th).

Durant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight matchups. As for Plant, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-2.

Durant beat Plant by a goal when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. Does Durant have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
