Softball Recap: Solon Takes a Loss

Solon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Twinsburg Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Comets have lost by just one run.

Grace Gerhard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mary Chesla, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Solon's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Twinsburg, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-5.

Coming up, Solon will square off against Brecksville-Broadview Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Bees have now posted at least ten runs in their last nine matches. As for Twinsburg, they will welcome Cuyahoga Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
