The Fairmont Firebirds will head out on the road to  face off against  the Beavercreek Beavers  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Fairmont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7  runs per game  this season.
Fairmont blew Talawanda out of the water the last time the pair played, but  on Saturday Talawanda got their revenge. The Firebirds fell just short of the Brave by a score of  5-3. The Firebirds' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
  Carlee Netherton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with four  stolen bases and two  runs.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Beavercreek, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Thursday. They came out on top against Springfield by a score of  8-4  on Friday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Beavers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
 Viera Barrett made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Barrett was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Makayla Shade was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  triples, two  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Selena Knight, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Beavercreek was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only posted a  batting average of  .320.
 Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Beavercreek, their record now sits at 8-13.
Beavercreek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Fairmont has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.1  hits per game. It's a different story for Beavercreek, though, as  they've been averaging 11  hits. Given Fairmont's sizable advantage in that area, the Beavers will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Fairmont took their  victory against Beavercreek  when the teams last played  back in April by a conclusive  13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
