Baseball Recap: Piper Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Piper can now relate to. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Great Bend Panthers on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Pirates seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Piper saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Simons, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Piper's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Great Bend, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Piper nor Great Bend have any future games scheduled.
