Softball Recap: Otsego Triumphs

Otsego's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Gull Lake Blue Devils by a score of 10-5. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.

Audrey Lingbeek made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Lingbeek was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Mikayla Bateman was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted over her last five games. Another player making a difference was Sydneigh Mosher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Otsego always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gull Lake only posted an OBP of .400.

Otsego's record now sits at 18-16. As for Gull Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-24 record this season.

Otsego will head out to challenge Plainwell at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gull Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
