The team relied heavily on Bailey David, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Morgan Verhoff, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.
Miller City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Antwerp had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The Archers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.
Elle Clem made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Raelynne Zuber was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Alia Clem was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Antwerp's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Miller City, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Miller City has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Antwerp struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
