Baseball Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom suffered their closest defeat since April 23, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of the Phillipsburg Stateliners by a score of 14-12. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stateliners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Andres Rivera stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Nate Warren, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Freedom and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Phillipsburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Freedom will host Bethlehem Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Phillipsburg, they will face off against Rutgers Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Stateliners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Argonauts have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
