Baseball Recap: Exeter Extends Winning Streak to Three

Exeter waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the McAuley Catholic Warriors. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Exeter let Briley Hargus and Kason Nelson run wild. Hargus got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Nelson went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Nelson has become a key player for Exeter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. Coy Aldridge was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Exeter's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for McAuley Catholic, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Exeter will venture away from home to challenge Fordland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McAuley Catholic, they will head out to square off against Greenfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
