Baseball Game Preview: Winters Blizzards vs. Bangs Dragons

For the second straight game, Winters will face off against Bangs. The Blizzards will face off against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winters is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Winters is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bangs.

For Bangs' part, Trapper Estess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. Estess has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Bible was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Bangs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Rex Guerrero also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Winters now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Bangs, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Bangs' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Winters hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .407.
