Messalonskee faced Cape Elizabeth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles came out on top against the Capers by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-0, 22-25, 25-0.

Leading Messalonskee to victory were Marina Karkos and Hannah Adams. Karkos had 13 digs, while Adams had six digs, six blocks, and two aces. Adams has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Messalonskee was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in six consecutive matches.

Messalonskee's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Cape Elizabeth, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Messalonskee has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Greely on the 14th. As for Cape Elizabeth, they will host Yarmouth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
