Baseball Game Preview: Saranac Spartans vs. Ticonderoga Sentinels

The Saranac Spartans will face off against the Ticonderoga Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saranac will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Saranac gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Franklin Academy.

Saranac got a great performance from Caleb Champagne as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Adrian Barnes was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Brady Blair was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Ticonderoga's offense. They fell 5-0 to Moriah on Thursday.

Saranac pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Ticonderoga, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Saranac beat Ticonderoga 10-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Sentinels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
