Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Ashley's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ashley walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Sanderson Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Ashley took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-11.

Jessie Hill paced Ashley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hill got some help from Sarah Brannin and her 27 assists. Brannin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Ashley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Sanderson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Looking ahead, Ashley will challenge Cape Fear at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sanderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
